while (tech) do {art} is a one-day culture fair that takes place in Bengaluru. The festival seeks to showcase art, writing, new media and DIY projects that present a commentary on our relationship with technology as individuals, families and communities. A first of its kind, the festival aims to “address the political, social, psychological, mindful and playful dimensions of our digital lives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first edition of the while (tech) do {art} organised by Critters’ Collective<\/a>, held in November 2022, was free and open to all. It featured essays, interviews, artwork, zines, workshops, films and other media that contribute to “the discourse of cultures of technology.” Some of the artists to be featured in this edition included Aakash Suri, Kalyani Tupkary, Sameer Kulkarni, Bad Press and Gaurika Singhal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival<\/a> also included workshops such as “Solemnly Resolve” by Fields of View – a game to critically engage with the Indian Constitution, “Our Relationship with Technology” by Sneha Joshi – a reflection on how we connect with tech and “Self Driving Cars & Remote Controlled People” by Hasan, a dialogue that seeks to establish the social practices, systems and policies needed to combat the newer challenges of tech such as polarisation and child development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sneakers (perfect option if it’s not likely to rain) or boots (but make sure they are worn in). You need to keep those feet tappin’ and heads bangin’. On that note, carry a bandana or a scrunchie to avoid tressy accidents with your fellow festival goers.<\/p>\n<p>4.
