Launched in 2012, Bangalore Open Air is an annual outdoor heavy metal music festival in Bengaluru. Held in collaboration with Wacken Open Air, which takes place in the village of Wacken in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, Bangalore Open Air has featured some of the world’s finest international metal bands over its eight editions. The list includes Germany’s Kreator, Destruction and Suidakra, the UK’s Napalm Death, the US’s Iced Earth and Inquisition, Canada’s Skull Fist, Sweden’s Dark Tranquility, Norway’s Ihsahn and Leprous, Austria’s Belphegor, Israel’s Orphaned Land, Poland’s Vader and Bangladesh’s Orator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival<\/a> has also hosted the Indian leg of the international band contest, the Wacken Metal Battle since the second instalment in 2013. The winning act gets the opportunity to perform at Wacken Open Air. The most recent edition of Bangalore Open Air took place on 01 April 2023. Highlights at the festival included performances by the metal bands\u00a0Amorphia, <\/em>Godless, Dying Embrace, Kryptos and many others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
