A wealth of talent from India and abroad is spotlighted at Chennai Photo Biennale, a city-wide festival of exhibitions and activities where photographers\u2014beginner, amateur and professional\u2014get to learn, upskill and network. Anna Fox, Gauri Gill, Raghu Rai, Rashid Rana, Rohini Devasher, Sheba Chhachhi and Sonia Jabbar are just a few of the prominent lensmen and lenswomen whose works have been showcased at the biennale since its launch in 2016. After taking a break in 2020, the third edition of the festival<\/a>, titled Maps of Disquiet, was held in a hybrid format from December 2021 to February 2022. The exhibitions at the Chennai Photo Biennale were complemented by talks, discussions, podcasts, critical texts and a publication.

This year\u2019s the theme is, \u201cWhy Photograph?\u201d which invites an exploration of our evolving relationship with photography amidst visual saturation. The Biennale will unfold in two phases, featuring a rich lineup of exhibitions and programs showcasing both primary and invited shows by renowned artists from around the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
