Magnetic Fields is a three-day music festival that takes place at 17th-century palace Alsisar Mahal in Shekhawati, Rajasthan. The annual festival, which was launched in 2013, showcases \u201cthe country\u2019s best and most forward-thinking music alongside some of the world’s finest underground stars\u201d. Among the acts to have played on its many stages include path-breakers such as Arjun Vagale, Ben UFO, Charanjit Singh, Daphni, DJ Koze, Four Tet, Hunee, HVOB, Khruangbin, Maribou State, Peter Cat Recording Co., Ratatat and Shanti Celeste. Each year also features performances by local Rajasthani folk musicians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees can book one of the fast-selling rooms inside the palace or camp in the desert where they can pitch their own tent or rent one. The festival, seven editions of which have been staged so far, was last staged in 2019. However, Magnetic Nomads, a limited-capacity offshoot with an all-local line-up, was staged in March 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme for the 2022 instalment was “reconnection”. Four Tet, Ben UFO and HVOB <\/em>returned to headline a line-up that featured other international acts such as Batu, Onra, Jossy Mitsu, Saoirse, Sherelle and Young Marco. Indian artists who played in the last edition of the festival include Murthovic & Thiruda, Nate08, Sijya, Tyrell Dub Corp and acts from the record label Export Quality, who presented a showcase.
