The annual Vindhya International Film Festival Madhya Pradesh, launched in 2019, has a special focus on \u201ctribal people, their life and culture\u201d. The event serves as a meeting place for filmmakers and people who are interested in film as an artform and a tool of social expression. Its main aim is to promote and create interest in filmmaking in the state, especially in the smaller districts. Over 50 films, including features, documentaries and shorts, are screened at the festival every year. There are also interviews, panel discussions, workshops as well as film-related art exhibitions and book launches, all of which are free to attend for residents.
