Bikaner-based Lokayan Sansthan, the name of which translates as \u201cdialogue among people\u201d, was registered as a public charitable society during the mid-1990s. It brought together the energies of several performing and visual artists deeply committed to the documentation of the culture of north-western Rajasthan and the preservation of Rajasthan’s folk practices. Lokayan Sansthan is dedicated to the revival, restoration and renewal of intangible and tangible cultural heritage of the state and focuses on the promotion and presentation of its traditions to the world at large. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its year-round activities include the curation and organisation of music, art and theatre-related festivals, and helping provide economic resilience and support to folk and classical artists, artisans and craftsmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
