On January 31st, 2026, AlterNation is bringing you a whole day of the best contemporary, jazz original and improvised music in Chennai. AlterNation strives to promote original, provocative music by artists that do not usually have a space to play in traditional venues. The festival will also showcase fantastic local, upcoming, jazz musicians from Chennai, as part of our mission to grow and develop the jazz space in the city. Hosted on an outdoor stage in the Zol gardens at The Palomar by Crossway on the ECR, the show kicks off in the afternoon at 3pm, and will run all day with great bands taking the stage all the way up until 11pm. There will also be great deals on food and drinks, festival merchandise available and visual art events happening during the day. Come join us for a day of incredible JAZZ and more! How to Reach Chennai 1. By Air: Chennai International Airport is 7 kms away from Chennai city. Frequent domestic as well as international flights arrive here. Anna Terminal receives international flights from various major cities in the world. By Road: The city is well connected with other cities in India by a road network. Various national highways from Chennai connect with Bengaluru (330 kms), Trichy (326 kms), Puducherry (162 kms) and Tiruvallur (47 kms). One can use car rental services or state transport buses. A sturdy water bottle, if the festival has refillable water stations and the venue allows bottles to be taken inside. 4.
