Babul Eco Film Festival (BEFF) is an environmental film festival held in Hyderabad, focusing on films that engage with ecology, sustainability, and environmental awareness. The festival curates and screens green films from across the world, bringing together filmmakers and audiences through a programme centred on climate and conservation-related themes.
The festival’s line-up is divided into two sections: the Short Film Contest (SFC), a competitive category for films under five minutes, and Green Film Screenings (GFS), a non-competitive section for longer-format films. Selected films are reviewed through a two-stage jury process, with the competitive section awarding cash prizes, laurels, screening certificates, and festival recognition.
In addition to screenings, BEFF facilitates interactions between filmmakers and audiences through discussions and virtual conversations with directors and creative teams whenever possible. The festival also highlights eco-friendly products, sustainable practices, and environmental initiatives through its festival outreach and associated programming.
Following its Hyderabad edition, Babul Eco Film Festival travels to other cities, expanding its engagement with audiences interested in environmental cinema and sustainability-focused storytelling.
