The Bulandshahr Legacy Festival investigates the rich historical and architectural legacy of the city, which often found itself in close proximity of the rise and fall of the powerful emperors and dynasties of the Indian subcontinent. The festival covers cultural talks, heritage walks, craft workshops, contemporary art performances and laser light shows among other activities.
Events at the latest edition of the festival have included an address on the 1857 mutiny by Dr. Amit Pathak, a musical performance by Nisschal Zaveri Baithak, a live performance of the play Kaala Jal by the People’s Theatre Group, a Sufi performance by Mausiqui, film screenings, architectural exhibitions and more. The festival also included a workshop called the “Geeli Maati Ceramic Camp”. Organised in collaboration between the Kala Chaupal Trust and the Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), it aimed to showcase limited-edition hand-painted ceramic work created by local artists working in Khurja and contemporary artists from Delhi.
A result of an ongoing collaboration between the Kala Chaupal Trust and the Centre for Heritage Conservation (CHC) along with the CEPT Research and Development Foundation, the festival seeks to bring the artistic and architectural legacy of Bulandshahr to a wider audience.

How to reach Bulandshahr
1. By Air: Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, which is about 95 km away from Bulandshahr, is the closest airport to the city. Tourists can take a direct flight to New Delhi and then hop on to a bus or hail a cab to reach Bulandshahr.
2. By Rail: Tourists interested in reaching Bulandshahr can take a train to the Bulandshahr railway station which is about two km from the heart of the city. A lot of different passengers and express trains such as Sangam Express, Udhampur Kanpur Express, Khurja Meerut Passenger train, etc. run via the Bulandshahr railway station.
3. By Road: Bulandshahr is well connected to nearby cities and villages. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), runs regular deluxe A/C and non-A/C buses between Bulandshahr and other neighbouring cities such as Noida, New Delhi, Kasganj, Dehradun, etc. It takes about 2 hours to travel a distance of 83 km between Bulandshahr and New Delhi.
