Himalayan Baithak is an intimate music and travel experience set in a quiet riverside valley in Uttarakhand, where the mountains, the river, and the people carry centuries of musical memory.
Organised by Amarrass Records and Sadhana Travel, this two-night, three-day journey invites a small group of guests to experience Qawwali and Kumaoni folk music up close — not on a stage, but in the true spirit of the baithak: an unhurried sitting, where artists and listeners share the same space.
Guests stay at the boutique Soulitude by the Riverside, waking to the sound of the River Kalsa. Days are filled with farm-to-table meals, a Kumaoni cooking session with the artists, a morning hike to a hidden alpine lake, and a flute-playing workshop with local musicians. Evenings belong to Rehmat-e-Nusrat and sister band Himali Mou, whose music fills the valley with devotion and warmth.
This is slow travel at its most intentional — designed for those who want to feel a place, not just visit it.
