KaniFest is a two-week creative festival held at KaniHome in Zakura, Srinagar, Kashmir, bringing together artists, craftspeople, designers, musicians, researchers, educators, filmmakers, and other creative practitioners. Rooted in Kashmir’s cultural heritage and traditions of craftsmanship, the festival creates a space for creative exchange, experimentation, learning, and collaboration across disciplines.
The programme combines dialogue, live arts, workshops, and hands-on creative practices, encouraging participants to explore the intersections of culture, nature, technology, and contemporary creative expression. Artists and practitioners share their skills and knowledge through a range of activities, while the festival provides opportunities for students, makers, entrepreneurs, curators, writers, and community builders to engage with different ideas and practices.
The 2026 edition takes place from 17 to 30 October 2026 at KaniHome, Zakura, Srinagar. The programme includes sunset music gatherings featuring Gaekhir Republik, Moze, and Ali Saifuddin, alongside projection mapping by creative technologists based at KaniHome. Through its mix of artistic practices and interdisciplinary experiments, KaniFest explores how cultural heritage and contemporary creativity can inform new ways of making and working together.
