How to reach Koraput

1. By Air: The nearest major airport to Koraput is Visakhapatnam International Airport in Andhra Pradesh, located around 200 km away. The airport is well connected to major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad. From Visakhapatnam, travelers can continue to Koraput by bus, shared taxi, or private cab. 
2. By Rail: Koraput has its own railway station, Koraput Junction, which is connected to major cities in Odisha and neighbouring states. The station lies on the Kirandul–Visakhapatnam railway line, with trains connecting Koraput to destinations including Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and Howrah. The scenic rail journey through the Eastern Ghats also makes travelling by the Visakhapatnam line an experience in itself.
3. By Road: Koraput is well connected by national and state highways, with regular bus and taxi services from nearby cities. Buses operate between Koraput and Visakhapatnam, while state-run and private buses also connect the town with Bhubaneswar and other parts of Odisha. Travelers can also hire taxis or drive from nearby destinations such as Jeypore, Visakhapatnam, and Rayagada.

1. Light, breathable clothing and comfortable footwear, as October is generally warm with humidity lingering after the monsoon.
2. A light rain jacket or compact umbrella, as occasional showers can still occur during the transition out of the monsoon.
3. A sturdy water bottle, if the festival has refillable water stations and the venue allows bottles to be taken inside the festival site.
4. Comfortable walking shoes, basic medicines, mosquito repellent, and a small backpack, especially if you’ll be exploring Koraput’s hilly and forested surroundings.
