Organised by linear festivals, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುlinear (Bangalore Linear) is a newly launched performing arts festival that transforms the city into a stage. Running for 24 hours from 3pm on September 13 to 3pm on September 14, 2025, the inaugural edition unfolds along Bangalore’s green metro line — turning one of the city’s busiest transport routes into its cultural spine. In a city defined by traffic, the metro becomes the only way to move with the rhythm of the arts.
The festival presents seven premiere shows spanning theatre, music, and dance. Its programming looks beyond India’s metropolitan centres, drawing voices and performances from across the country. From Hassan and Kalburgi in Karnataka to the Lower Dibang Valley District in Arunachal Pradesh; from a hip hop act in Ajmer to a Lepcha singer-songwriter; from a ninth-generation shadow puppeteer to experimental electronic music and theatre, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುlinear celebrates contemporary expressions in all their diversity.
The 2025 edition is jointly directed by Vishruti Bindal and Bharavi, bringing over three decades of artistic experience to the curatorial process. Featured artists include Roshan Mathew, Zeron, Fat Krrent, Gundu Raju, Aseng Borang, Shilpa Mudbi, Khokkosh, and Anohnymouss, among others — a line-up that reflects both emerging voices and established innovators.
More than a festival, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುlinear is an experiment in movement, connectivity, and access, inviting audiences to travel the city, experience new work, and reimagine Bangalore’s cultural landscape — all within a single 24-hour journey.
