The Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC Craft Museum), Ajarakhpur, Bhuj-Kutch, continues its tradition of cultural celebration with the timeless 'LLDC Winter Festival.' Collaborating with Madhya Pradesh, this festival promises a continued exploration of diverse art and craft traditions, transcending temporal and geographical boundaries.
For several years, Shrujan LLDC has been dedicated to unveiling the exquisite artistry of Kachchh's artisan communities. In 2018, LLDC introduced the Winter Festival as a Folk Festival, captivating audiences with Kachchh's folk dances, music, cuisine, and arts and crafts. The success of this event prompted LLDC to transform it into an annual extravaganza, hosting collaborations with various states in 2019 and 2020.
In 2019, LLDC expanded its horizons, presenting the festival in a cross-cultural style titled NAMASTE. This edition showcased the cultural heritage of five Northeastern Indian states. WZCC (West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur) and NEZCC (North East Zone Cultural Centre, Chandigarh) lent their support to this vibrant celebration. In 2020, LLDC extended a warm invitation to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, creating a tapestry of two distinct cultures for thousands of festival-goers, blending music, dance, food, and handicrafts.
The LLDC Winter Festival remains a dynamic platform, and this ongoing legacy is exemplified by its collaboration with artists and artisan communities from Madhya Pradesh.
