The Mahindra Percussion Festival returns to Bengaluru for its fourth edition on 7 and 8 March 2026 at the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts. Conceived as a platform for India’s diverse rhythmic traditions, the two-day festival brings together classical maestros, contemporary performers, and cross-generational collaborations that position percussion as a living and evolving art form.
The 2026 edition focuses on bridging tradition and the present, highlighting the adaptability and depth of Indian percussion practices. A key highlight is Nada Pravaham – Circle of Sound, a collaborative performance that brings together mridangam, tabla, and drums in dialogue. The programme also includes Yātrā, a musically immersive presentation rooted in Maharashtra’s bhakti tradition, where rhythm plays a central role in spiritual expression.
The festival foregrounds inclusivity through projects such as Women Who Drum, which brings together women percussionists in a collaborative soundscape, and The Parai Awakens – Unreserved Live, which re-examines one of India’s oldest instruments through a contemporary lens. The festival concludes with Drums of the East, a percussion-led concert that blends classical foundations with global influences.
The festival will showcase performances by a diverse array of talented homegrown and international percussion artists and will foster never-seen-before collaborations with ensembles from around the world.
