La Nuit Blanche 2025, presented by the Alliance Française of Madras, is the third edition of Chennai’s all-night celebration of art and culture. The festival will take place on 11 October 2025, from 1 PM to 3 AM, at the Alliance Française of Madras. Entry is free and open to all.
Inspired by the iconic Parisian event, La Nuit Blanche first debuted in Chennai in 2023 to mark AF Madras’ 70th anniversary. The 2024 edition, themed The Opulence of Versailles, transformed the venue into a regal experience with immersive performances and installations.
Returning this year with renewed vibrancy, the **2025 edition—Moulin Rouge—**will feature an immersive audio-visual exhibition alongside a diverse lineup of dance, theatre, music, Carnatic performances, and traditional Tamil Nadu art forms. Guest artists from Réunion Island will also be part of the programme.
With over 30 installations and performances, La Nuit Blanche continues to serve as a platform for cross-cultural dialogue, contemporary artistic expression, and community engagement in Chennai.

1. Carry summer clothes to beat the humidity in Chennai.
2. Sandals, flip flops or sneakers (a perfect option if it's not likely to rain) or boots (but make sure they are worn in). You need to keep those feet tappin'. On that note, carry a bandana or a scrunchie to avoid tressy accidents with your fellow festival-goers.
3. A sturdy water bottle, if the festival has refillable water stations.
