Opn Art House (OAH) is a two-day, free-entry, multimedia art and design festival curated by Gaysi Family. Conceived as an open space for experimentation, the festival brings together emerging artists, designers, performers, and storytellers whose practices sit outside mainstream conventions.

The 2026 edition will take place on 14 and 15 February 2026 at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, and is centred on the theme Rewriting Indian Classics. Through exhibitions, performances, and participatory formats, the festival examines how cultural “classics” are formed, remembered, and reinterpreted, and how power shapes what is preserved as heritage.

A key component of the festival is the Classic AF exhibition, featuring works by 15 artists who revisit and reframe Indian classics through contemporary lenses. The festival also includes an Art Bazaar with over 40 homegrown artists, small businesses, and independent brands presenting zines, prints, ceramics, jewellery, merchandise, and experimental design objects.

Alongside visual art and design, OAH 2026 will host performances, including appearances by international and Indian collectives, positioning the festival as a platform for alternative narratives, queer expression, and creative risk-taking.

    Gaysi Family
About Gaysi Family Gaysi Family is a media platform and safe zone for queer desis that was formed in 2008. It provides space for queer folx from across South Asia to share their stories and experiences, while engaging with others from the community as that is critical to understanding what it means to be queer. The organisation believes that while people are aware that being queer means being LGBT, we must all also understand that queerness is “a philosophy, a politics, a sensibility”. The activities of Gaysi Family include maintaining an online presence in the form of the Gaysi blog and virtual events (such as workshops, talks and open mics); the Gaysi zine (available in both digital and print formats); and a series of in-person events such as badminton tournaments, trivia nights, bar nights and queer theatre productions. Its properties include Can You Repeat The Question Please, Dirty Talk, Flick It, 2×2 Bar Nights, and Zine Bazaar, among others. See the complete list of festival organisers here.
