The Palghar Living Heritage Festival celebrates the rich cultural traditions of the region’s Tribal communities, including the Warli, Kokna and Thakar, amidst the forests, hills and villages of Palghar. The festival brings together music, dance, traditional theatre, storytelling and community practices shaped by the seasons, landscape and everyday life.
Experience the vibrant Tarpa dance, where the sound of the traditional wind instrument brings communities together in a circle of movement and celebration, alongside Bohada, a traditional masked ritual theatre combining mask-making, music, dance and storytelling.
Supported by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, the festival offers visitors an opportunity to meet local artists and communities and experience their living traditions within the landscapes where they continue to thrive. It is a celebration of the connection between people, place and nature, rooted in respectful and responsible cultural tourism.
