Film Festival
Ritu Rangam International Film Festival (RRIFF) is an annual film festival organised by N.G. Sarani Ritu Rangam Natyakendra in Kolkata. Held in memory of filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh, the festival celebrates independent and international cinema while creating a platform for filmmakers, students, and audiences to engage through screenings, discussions, and cultural exchange. The 9th edition is scheduled to take place in 2026.
The festival showcases feature films, short films, documentaries, and music videos from India and around the world, with awards presented across multiple competitive categories. Alongside film screenings, the programme includes masterclasses, filmmaker interactions, cultural performances, and networking opportunities that encourage dialogue around contemporary filmmaking and storytelling.
Building on previous editions, RRIFF 2026 continues its focus on international cinema while highlighting diverse Indian languages and independent filmmaking. This year's edition also commemorates the birth centenary of legendary actor Uttam Kumar through a special tribute celebrating his enduring contribution to Indian cinema.
Through its curated screenings, educational programmes, and cultural events, Ritu Rangam International Film Festival brings together filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from across the world, fostering conversations around film, heritage, and artistic practice.
