The 8th Ritu Rangam International Film Festival 2025, organised by N.G. Sarani Ritu Rangam Natyakendra, is a global celebration of cinema held in memory of Rituparno Ghosh, the visionary who transformed Indian filmmaking.
This three-day cultural event in Barasat, Kolkata (29–31 August 2025), will feature 50+ curated screenings, masterclasses by veteran film connoisseurs, and a special award ceremony honouring cinematic excellence. The festival will also present centenary tributes to Ritwik Ghatak and Tapan Sinha, along with the unveiling of its exclusive Film Magazine.
With Assam as the Focus State, the festival brings together filmmakers, cinephiles, and cultural enthusiasts to experience powerful storytelling, artistic exchange, and the timeless magic of world cinema.
People across all genders, races and backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to submit their films to this annual festival at which awards are presented in 15 various categories, including those for short films, documentaries and music videos.

How to Reach Kolkata
1. By Air: The Kolkata international airport, better known as the Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, is located at Dumdum. It connects Kolkata with all the major cities of the country as well as the world.
2. By Rail: The Howrah and Sealdah railway stations are the two major railheads situated in the city. Both these stations are well connected to all the important cities of the country.
3. By Road: The West Bengal state buses and various private buses travel to and from different parts of the country at a reasonable cost. Some places near Kolkata are Sunderbans (112 km), Puri (495 km), Konark (571 km) and Darjeeling (624 km).
