Shoonya is a festival that its organisers say “focuses on the journey towards the joyful discovery of inner contentment”. It can simultaneously be described as a camping/travelling arts and wellness festival where attendees are invited “to flow through the rocks and forests like a river stream via curated pathways of experiences, activities, and workshops” such as drum circles, mandala making, sound healing, yoga and Zumba sessions.
The festival, which was launched in 2018, is held in different parts of the country with the aim of finding untouched spots in picturesque and serene locations. The 2022 edition took place over the Independence Day weekend in Pushkar. “Human” foosball, a sundowner hike and meals prepared by a farm-to-plate community kitchen were on the itinerary at the event.
The brainchild of three visionaries- Anuj Agarwal, Manu and Saksham Ghiya, last year the festival took place from 01 to 03 December, 2023 at the eco-conscious festival stay at Colomb beach in Palolem.

How To Reach Rishikesh
1. By Air: The closest airport to Rishikesh is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is around 35 km from the city. Taxis and buses are available outside the airport to reach Rishikesh from Dehradun.
2. By Rail: Though there is a station in Rishikesh, not many trains operate from there, so it is advisable to take trains to Haridwar and then travel further to Rishikesh. Haridwar is connected to most major cities and can be reached easily from Rishikesh. Buses, cabs and private taxis are available outside the station to reach Rishikesh from Haridwar.
3. By Road: Rishikesh is well connected to all the major national highways. It has decent road connectivity with cities such as Haridwar (19 km), Dehradun (45 km), Mussoorie (72 km), New Delhi (229 km) and Mathura (378 km).
