The Sufi Heritage Festival returns to Sunder Nursery, New Delhi, for its second edition on 28 February and 1 March 2026, presenting Sufism as a living and evolving cultural tradition. Conceptualised by Yasmin Kidwai and Himanshu Anand under Culture Plus, the festival is rooted in ideas of conservation, community, and shared cultural memory.
Designed as an open-air cultural experience, the festival brings together music, poetry, storytelling, performance, craft, and cuisine, creating spaces for dialogue and reflection. The programme unfolds across two stages: Samaa (Main Stage), featuring legacy and contemporary performers, and Bebaak (Contemporary Stage), which highlights modern interpretations and experimental voices engaging with Sufi thought.
A key component of the festival is the Sufi Bazaar, a curated marketplace showcasing crafts, textiles, and artisanal traditions from across India. Workshops and culinary experiences further complement the performances, offering participatory ways to engage with Sufi philosophy and practice. Set within the historic landscape of Sunder Nursery, the festival positions Sufism not as nostalgia, but as a continuing cultural expression shaped by the present.
