Since its founding in 2018, DHARINNI has been striving for heritage conservation through our flagship initiative: DHARA – Responsible Tourism for (& through) Micro Regional Heritage Conservation. Launched in late 2021, DHARA combines incentivized restoration, adaptive reuse, and community-driven slow travel events to transform Kerala’s built heritage into living experiences.
Sankaramangalam Tharavadu, the epicenter of our primary research, stands as a testament to the potential of interdisciplinary gatherings, interactions, and interventions in reviving and fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility toward micro-regional heritage. This has been achieved by setting the stage for cultural exchanges, interactions, immersive experiences, engagements, knowledge sharing, trail mapping, oral histories, and more. SABHA @ Sankaramangalam, has been the pride of Dharinni which has built our confidence has a team, revived our aspirations and paved the way for VERU 2026.
VERU 2026 is a journey that began taking shape in September 2025, and has been in action since mid November 2025 through the VERU 2026 Heritage trails, 18 heritage trails spanning across the 14 districts. VERU is envisioned as a Confluence of regional heritage practitioners and a coming together of expressions and exchanges rooted in Kerala.
