Founded in 1993, the India Habitat Centre aims to bring together individuals and institutions working in diverse habitat and environment-related areas. Housed in a multipurpose building divided into five blocks connected with aerial walkways, the centre can conduct up to 20 concurrent sessions, from socio-cultural events and exhibitions to business and economic conventions. It includes a visual arts gallery, library and resource centre, learning centre, amphitheatre, conference and banquet halls, and restaurants. India Habitat Centre stages and hosts an annual calendar of events such as Indian classical music and dance recitals, theatre performances, film screenings, talks and panel discussions.
