The Jodhpur RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival) takes place under the aegis of the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Jodhpur. The museum, which was established in 1972 by Maharaja Gaj Singh II, is a repository of the artistic and cultural history of Marwar-Jodhpur and its Rathore dynasty. It also houses one of the best preserved collections of fine and applied arts from the Mughal period.
The trust launched the Jodhpur RIFF with the express intention of revitalising the traditional music of Rajasthan and positively impacting the livelihood of the folk musicians of the state.
