The Samved Society for Performing Arts is an institution dedicated to the mission of promoting Indian classical performing arts. Kathak dancer Uma Dogra founded the institute in 1990, to keep alive the memory of her guru, Jaipur gharana exponent Durga Lal. SamVed pays homage to him through two annual festivals in Mumbai. The Pt. Durgalal Festival features renowned dance and music artists while the Raindrops Festival of Indian Classical Dance spotlights rising talents.
