About St+art India
St+art India Foundation is a public art organisation that works at the intersection of contemporary art, the built environment, and public life. Since its inception in 2014, St+art has sought to democratise access to art by embedding it within everyday urban spaces—streets, neighbourhoods, and civic infrastructure—making culture visible, accessible, and part of lived experience.
Working through socially rooted and interdisciplinary art practices, the foundation collaborates with artists, communities, institutions, and government bodies to create site-responsive interventions that reflect local contexts while engaging with global conversations. In cities where public space is often fragmented or polarised, St+art activates shared environments through murals, installations, performances, walks, and conversations that encourage participation, dialogue, and collective ownership.
Over the past decade, St+art India has produced 25+ festivals and projects across 30+ cities, collaborated with over 500 artists, and created more than 600 public art projects. These initiatives have transformed neighbourhoods into long-term cultural assets and informed the development of multiple art districts across the country, including the Lodhi Art District in Delhi.
Beyond art projects, St+art contributes to policy discourse and cultural frameworks around public space, urban regeneration, and creative placemaking—positioning public art not as spectacle, but as sustained civic practice.
