Guided by founder Late Shri U. N. Mehta's philosophy — "Think of others also, when you think about yourself" — the UNM Foundation was established by the Mehta Family, promoters of Torrent Group. As their philanthropic arm, the Foundation works in Community Healthcare, Education & Knowledge Enhancement, Art & Culture, and Social Care & Concern. In Community Healthcare, "REACH" has provided free health services to 1.85+ lakh children across 2,000+ villages, with 28,000+ children screened nutritionally. 14 Paediatric Health Centres across Gujarat and UP, and the UNM Children’s Hospital have collectively treated over 1.8 lakh patients and performed 4,400+ surgeries. The 1,100-bed U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre in Ahmedabad is widely regarded for its excellence in cardiac care in India. In Education, "Shardashish School" revitalises rural schools while "Shiksha Setu" enhances primary education through scientific teaching and tech integration, covering 30,000+ students. "Shardashish Scholarships" support underprivileged students pursuing global education. Under Social Care & Concern, Abhivyakti City Arts Project supports multidisciplinary arts while "Pratiti" has developed 15+ urban public gardens in Ahmedabad & Surat.
