Key Findings

The Indian media and entertainment sector grew by 9% in 2025 to reach ₹2.78 trillion, outpacing overall economic growth.
Digital advertising drove momentum, growing 26% to INR947 billion and accounting for 63% of total ad revenues in 2025.
Live events grew 44%, while television, radio and online gaming recorded declines.
The industry produced nearly 200,000 hours of content in 2025, with a significant share driven by regional language content, underlining India’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
The sector is expected to cross ₹3 trillion by 2027 and reach ₹3.3 trillion by 2028, indicating sustained long-term growth
The rise of creator-led ecosystems, AI-driven production, and hybrid monetisation models is transforming traditional media structures into more participatory, data-led systems.
