About the event

At the eighth Festival Connections session, the floor was opened to discuss festivals in a safe space with peers and other experts from the sector. The session was opened by Rashmi Dhanwani, the moderator for the evening, by presenting some insights from the sector study conducted by the Festival Connections team. It gave the audience a peek into the current planning cycles of their fellow festival organisers, the models they are pursuing, and other critical reference points. Further to this, the participants were divided into three groups based on the genre of their festivals, namely, Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and Literature. The session was designed to encourage a peer sharing and co-solving approach through three exercises of 15 minutes each. After the breakout session, the participants from the various groups were back for an open Q&A discussion.

This event was held as part of the British Council’s Festival Connections in partnership with Arts and Culture Resources India (an Art X Company initiative), an annual programme of expertise, knowledge and networking between India and the UK.
