Prakriti Excellence in Contemporary Dance Awards

Prakriti Excellence in Contemporary Dance Awards is a national-level dance competition and a platform for emerging contemporary dance forms, exposing artists to a wider audience. While the first four editions, from 2012 through 2018, happened in Chennai, the competition, which is held every two years, was presented in Bengaluru for the fifth and sixth instalments. The upcoming edition will also be held in Bengaluru and is open to all contemporary dance practitioners.

The jury this year includes:

  • Saïdo Lehlouh, Co-director, CCNRB, France
  • Shiva Pathak, Co-Founder & Artistic Director, Sandbox Collective, Bangalore
  • Glyn Roberts, Team Manager Creative Communities at Townsville City, Australia
  • Faith Tan, Director of Programming, The Esplanade, Singapore
  • Melanie Zimmermann, Artistic Director, Real Dance Festival, Hannover, Germany
