About Kalpanirjhar Foundation

Established in 2001, the Kalpanirjhar Foundation is “committed to developing a democratic platform for the study and creative use of the entire range of the audiovisual media, particularly in their role in social critique, change and development”. Aimed at practitioners and professionals, it is an informal network for sharing ideas and experiences and devising strategies and methods for positive changes in these fields and other related areas. 

The foundation organises the annual Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival and the Kalpanirjhar Annual Lecture, delivered by eminent personalities on vital issues about cinema and arts. It also puts together seminars and exhibitions related to cinema and other performing media, the visual arts and literature.
