Ranga Shankara

About Ranga Shankara
Since 2004, Ranga Shankara has redefined Bengaluru’s cultural landscape. At a time when the city lacked a dedicated theatre space, Ranga Shankara emerged as a stage that now hosts a play every single day—approximately 460 shows a year—featuring troupes from across India and the world. With a model built on affordable rentals (₹2,500 per show plus a small percentage of sales), accessible ticket pricing, and a deep commitment to theatre, it has helped make the art form both sustainable and inclusive.
The audience base reflects the diversity of Bengaluru—spanning languages, cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds—including thousands of children who experience the magic of performance through AHA!, Ranga Shankara’s dedicated Theatre for Children programme. In addition to being a performance venue, Ranga Shankara also curates festivals and community events, nurtures emerging talent through workshops, and runs outreach programmes that bring theatre to remote parts of Karnataka.
