About Studio Potters' Market

Starting out with vegetable carts displaying studio pottery in a parking lot at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, the Studio Potters’ Market has come a long way since it was founded by Anjani Khanna and Rashi Jain in 2009. Khanna and Jain were subsequently joined by Neha Kudchadkar and Sangeeta Kapila in 2016.

Today, the Studio Potters’ Market’s various initiatives provide encouragement and opportunities to both aspiring and established artists to present their work and interact directly with visitors. These initiatives have resulted in a nationwide movement with an annual calendar of events, such as its yearly showcases at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, the Potters Fest at Coomaraswamy Hall and Bandra Potters Market and pop-up exhibitions and restaurants and shops across Mumbai. Across India, individual artist-led markets have emerged in cities like Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and Vadodara.
