Founded in 1989, Visthar is a secular civil society organisation committed to social justice and peace. Visthar has a rich history of involvement in community-based advocacy and transformative education. As part of its initiatives, Visthar works with marginalised women and children in north Karnataka.
Located on a serene six-acre campus, Visthar hosts events that highlight challenges to basic human rights and the need to evolve sustainable alternatives. It offers study programmes on a range of subjects including gender, diversity, social justice, peace and development. The conference and retreat centre on its campus offers facilities for exhibitions and celebrations.
