For Edition 4.0 of the Jaipur Art Week, applications are open for artists who are inspired by, are based in or have connections to the Public Arts Trust of India’s home state, Rajasthan. There are no specific mediums or criteria, and applicants need not to have an art degree or any formal training to apply. Selected artists will be given the opportunity to showcase their work in a group exhibition or as solo interventions across Jaipur Art Week’s partner venues throughout Jaipur.

Open call for a course on performance and urban space

Serendipity Arts Foundation & British Council invite applications for an innovative free online course, led by Vikram Phukan, exploring how dance, music, theatre, and movement can activate public spaces in the city. Through interdisciplinary modules, this course seeks to chronicle the present of India’s urban centres and reimagine encounters with art beyond traditional venues and contexts. These resources will enable artists, researchers, architects, writers, journalists, designers, coders, and enthusiasts from all walks of life to respond to the multisensory fabric of cities through critical thinking and creative practice.

Open call for early to mid-career visual arts curators

Art Exchange: Moving Image programme is a collaborative and cross-cultural curatorial professional development and exhibition programme for early to mid-career visual arts curators from South Asia working with the moving image. The programme is supported by the British Council and organised by LUX, the UK agency for the support and promotion of artists working with the moving image and Art South Asia Project (ASAP), the UK-based arts education and development nonprofit organisation supporting Education, Research & Collaboration in the field of South Asian Art.

Participants will receive mentoring support from LUX and ASAP, a dedicated programme of professional development opportunities and networking. A fully-funded research trip to the UK in Autumn 2024, an opportunity to work with moving image works in the British Council visual arts collection as well as logistical and financial support to stage a final exhibition including moving image work from the British Council Collection. Participants will also receive a curatorial fee and their host venue will receive funding for the exhibition staging.

Open call for conservators

The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation is accepting applications for the Inlaks Ravi Sankaran Small Grant in Conservation opportunity. ⁠The programme will fund up to 5 candidates who would like to undertake an initial project of up to a year’s duration that is expected to lead to a longer-term conservation science and/or implementation project. This initiative aims to provide “seed money” for projects that may have been viewed as unconventional in nature. ⁠
